Photo of Michael Weaver drumming for The Silver Tones

From the Johnson County Museum’s collection:
Did you know Johnson County was home to a popular rock n’ roll band in the early 1960s?
This photograph shows Mike Weakley drumming for The Silver Tones at the Soc Hop on 95th Street, circa 1960.
The band was composed of four high school students and they had a loyal local following.
The Silver Tones were inducted into the Kansas Music Hall of Fame in 2007.
